The Oaks, an Ogden Canyon landmark since 1902, has been sold, with plans to re-open it sometime this year. It’s great news for those of us who miss having a burger or ice cream cone.

The driver — identified as Quincie Holman, 20, of Salt Lake City — had been traveling east in a Hyundai Elantra, per the UHP statement, and was trying to pass another vehicle at the time of the crash.

A flood advisory was put in place for the Ogden River on Thursday after flooding caused road damage in the area, forcing the closure of Ogden Canyon. It has since been reopened to all general traffic via a one-way alternating traffic configuration. 

OGDEN, Utah (KUTV) — The grassfire burning near the base of the Ogden Canyon is now 25% contained, according to fire crews. Weber County residents were being evacuated as a precaution due to the high heat and dry fuels around the area.

A passer-by discovered a woman’s body in an Ogden Canyon hot spring just before dawn, Utah sheriff’s officials say. The other person pulled her from the water just before 5 a.m. Friday, May 20, and tried to revive her, Weber County sheriff’s officials told KSTU. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

OGDEN -- State Route 39 through Ogden Canyon will be the scene of more road construction in the near future.

According to Mitch Shaw, senior communications manager with the Utah Department of Transportation, the roadway is slated for barrier replacements in 2024.
